We need your help in making the ask for auction items for our "Rotary Runs For the Roses" fundraiser to be held on Saturday, May 4th. To make this year's fundraiser another success, we need each member to donate an item or obtain an item from a non-Rotarian. If you donated an auction item last year, please consider donating again this year and if you obtained an item from a local business last year, please contact them again this year. It would also be great to have some new items from businesses that have not contributed in the past. We know they will not submit an item is no one asks them.
We are planning to auction a "Wall of Wine" again this year. If each each member can donate one or two bottle(s), we will have plenty of wine. Your bottle(s) may also be brought to a meeting and given to Rich, Nate, or Ann Wright.
All auction items, unless too big to be easily moved, will be stored in Rich Job's basement. Upon receipt of the item, please bring it to a noon meeting and give it to Rich, or Nate or to an evening meeting and give it to Ann Wright. Also, provide the following information for each item:
- Name of Rotarian obtaining the item
- Name of the donor
- Contact information for the donor, if necessary to contact to pick up the item or use their services
- Brief description (if not obvious) of the item including any expiration date, details of how to use, etc.
- Approximate retail value of the item
- Any required minimum bid
If an item is too large to easily take it to Rich's basement, it may be delivered to the FFA Center by the donor at approximately 9:00 AM the morning of the event, but a picture of the item and the other information needs to be submitted.
The committee plans to meet to start packaging and taking pictures for our web site on Thursday, March 28th and it is our goal for all auction items to be in hand by Tuesday, April 2nd, which will give the committee time to take pictures, package the items, enter the descriptions onto our web site, and get the program to the printer by April 25th.
Good luck in your efforts to obtain auction items.
