During their August meeting, the Rotary Club of Ankeny's Board approved the following donation requests:
District 6000 Miles of Smiles Team - $500 - This team provides needed surgeries to individuals with cleft lip and cleft palate deformities by working with Rotarians in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. This team also works with them to promote additional health related outreach identified in their community.
District 6000 Disaster Relief/Humanitarian Service - $500 - This contribution goes into a fund so the District Team can respond in a timely manner when a disaster or humanitarian need arises in our district.
Puppy Jake - $250 - This organization purchases puppies, feeds, trains and provides vet care for dogs which are then given to veterans.
Beaverdale VFW - $1,000 - Donation to be used to assist with making improvements to the front patio, sidewalk, and driveway. Total project estimated to cost $20,000.
