On Wednesday, August 28th, nine members of the Rotary Club of Ankeny, three prospective new members and 5 family members, met at HyVee Hall in Des Moines and packaged were part of packaging over 1 million meals for the day for Meals From the Heartland's 12th annual "Hunger Fight". This was the third consecutive year the club participated in this event. The members also delivered a check in the amount of $200 from the club for a donation to help cover the cost of the ingredients, packaging, and transporting. The goal for the "Hunger Fight" is to package over 4 million meals in four days.
