The Iowa Association of Water Agencies will be hosting the Iowa Children's Water Festival on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the DMACC campus.  Over 2,000 fifth-graders are expected to attend this annual event that educates Iowa students about the importance of clean and abundant sources of water in our daily lives.   This event offers two service opportunities for metro-area Rotarians to expand youths' understanding of the water cycle, the importance of water quality to overall health, and supporting helping others access clean water.  These opportunities include: working a 2-hour shift at a Metro-area Rotary club table in the Exhibit Hall in the FFA Enrichment Center which will have materials describing the Rotary Club of Ames Tanzania water projects, and/or to sign up to be a volunteer for the day from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM as about 200 adults are needed throughout the day.  Contact Todd Kielkopf at todd_kielkopf@msn.com if interested in volunteering or Rich Job for more information.
