A total of 755 balls were sold and $200 collected in donations for the Rotary Club of Ankeny's 2025 "Golf Ball Drop" to benefit the Ankeny Service Center. For the first time the balls were dropped at the All City Play Day instead of during Ankeny Summerfest. A big thanks to Amy Ratekin, Shar Dunlap and Kent Patterson for their great ball dumping! For the second time in 13 years we had the same numbered ball win that had won previously. The preliminary results show the net profit will be $7,572.64 which will be donated to the Ankeny Service Center.
Thank you to Ankeny Sanitation for underwriting the prizes, Tim's Amoco and Leaning Tower of Pizza for providing the coupons on the back of the tickets, Jul's Design for designing the tickets, Herc-U-Lift for the lift, Aaron Gebauer for safely operating the lift, Mel Weatherwax for the golf hole, Rick Herman for announcing the event, Des Moines Printing for printing the tickets, the City of Ankeny for their great partnership with the All City Play Day, and to everyone that bought and sold tickets. Also, a special thanks to Tom Friedman for organizing this year's golf ball drop, as he has done in each of the past 13 years. Great job, as usual, Tom!
