Incoming President Ben Digmann, presented President Sally Schroeder with a golden gavel in appreciation of her leadership during the past year. Sally had four major goals during her term as president. They were:
- Host a City Wide Service Club Summit - The "Showcase" was held on March 27, 2018 with approximately 80 people in attendance from The Ankeny Lions Club, Optimists Club, Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Ankeny.
- Plant one tree for Each Ankeny Rotarian - Members planted approximately 8 trees and 39 trees were planted at the AMP site including a large tree to be decorated at Christmas.
- Fully Utilize the Club's Facebook Page - The Facebook page was developed by the evening club and Renee Murphy assumed the responsibility of maintaining it. It had over 100 likes during the past year.
- Use Rotary Minutes at Two Meetings per Month - There were approximately 30 "Rotary Minutes" during the past year.
Good job Sally!! It was a fun and productive year under your leadership!!
