Tamara Kenworthy, Chair of the Des Moines Rotary Multi-Club Committee and member of the Des Moines AM Rotary Club sent the following to the Rotary Club of Ankeny:

 

On behalf of the Rotary Multi-Club Committee of greater Des Moines, thank you so much for your generous contribution of $1,000 in support of the October 20 virtual CIVITAS program on the topic of substance abuse.  We have so many inspiring comments about the program and the various speakers.  For those who were not able to attend the live program, the link to the recording is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB3DBVnVZFQ&feature=youtu.be  One goal of CIVITAS as is to share net proceeds with various local non-profits who work in the area of substance abuse.  We will be donating a total of $5,000 this year.  Local non-profits who will each be receiving a $1,000 donation include:

We will also be donting $200 on behalf of each of our five speakers to non-profits, that provides substance abuse services, of their choice for an additional $1,000.  It was important to share this topic with our members and guests.  Thank you so much for supporting this initiative on such an important social issue.
