Lakshmi Kausalya came to last week's noon meeting and gave a presentation about her experience at RYLA. Kausalya and her family came to America from India just a handful of months ago, her father being transferred here for his job at John Deere. Kausalya saw the RYLA poster in the hallway at school and asked the school's guidance counselor about the program. She thought it would be a way for her to acclimate to America and make some friends. Her presentation was enthusiastic, she stated she had a "super fun" time and believes more students should attend RYLA. The Ankeny Superintendent, Rotarian Erick Pruitt, was also at the meeting and heard her presentation and commented about his desire to help encourage students to attend as well.
