The Rotary Club of Ankeny's 2019 fundraiser, "Casino Night" will be held on Saturday, April 13th. The event will be set up similar to previous year's and will include a meal, drinks and both silent and live auctions. Co-chairs, Laura Luetje and Stacey Koeppen, are working hard to create new energy for this event in hopes of gaining new faces in attendance and generate a community buzz about Rotary and what we do and, of course, raise more dollars for the club! Thanks to their efforts, they have already received $10,000 in sponsorships. These include $5,000 from Polk County, $3,000 from Prairie Meadows and, most recently, $2,000 from Karl Chevrolet.
Each member of the club should be thinking about what businesses they can ask to donate auction items and who they can invite to purchase tables and attend the event. We will soon be hearing from Doug Beech and Brian Tiernan regarding auction items and ticket sales. Also, Laura and Stacey plan to meet with committee chairs every other week at 11:00 AM prior to our regular Tuesday meetings beginning on January 8th.
