Rotarians Gather to Clear Band Shell Landscaping 

Twelve Rotarians and seven of their family members met at the Ankeny band shell Saturday morning, and in about an hour cleared all the weeds and dead or dying bushes from the site.   The Ankeny Parks and Recreation Department has proposed a landscaping plan for the replacement of the plantings.   Assuming the plan can be finalized and funding is available to purchase plants, another work day will be necessary to plant the new shrubs and is tentatively planned for September 7th.  The pictures below are the before and after of the cleanup.
