The Board for the Rotary Club of Ankeny first considered the idea of the construction of a trailhead on the bike path in Ankeny in July 2011.  Terry Peter announced at the noon Rotary meeting on November 21st that after about 800- volunteer hours and $2.2 million being raised, the AMP project is finally nearing completion.  He thanked Doug Beech, Dave Mercer, Mark Martin, Damon Miller and  Todd Wehr for serving on the committee to plan and fund raise.  He also presented a $110,000 check representing the amount that was donated toAMP by Ankeny Rotarians and the club.  There was also nearly $200,000 donated by businesses affiliated with an Ankeny Rotarian.  The foundation for the restrooms will be poured in the next few days with the building scheduled for delivery in early December.  Landscaping will be completed next spring.  A skating rink has also been constructed on the site.

Thank you to Terry Peter and his committee for all the hours they worked on this project during the past 5 years.
