President Patterson Comments

During program for the Club's fundraiser "Rotary Runs for the Roses", President Kent Patterson made a few comments regarding the Rotary Club of Ankeny. Here are a few excerpts from his talk:

"It is always a privilege to stand before you to talk about something I'm truly passionate about, the Rotary Club of Ankeny and the incredible impact we have right here at home. For over 50 years, our club has been a cornerstone of service in Ankeny, driven by a simple yet powerful motto: Service Above Self. It's this dedication that fuels our efforts, connects our members, and most importantly, allows us to support the vital work being done by so many deserving local causes.

But how do we turn this passion into tangible support? The answer lies in our fundraising. These aren't just events on a calendar; they are the lifeblood that enables us to make a real difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors. The energy, the camaraderie, the generosity on display - it's truly inspiring. And behind right here in Ankeny. every ticket purchased, every item bid on, every donation made, is the potential to strengthen our community. The funds we raise don't disappear into a large, impersonal pot. They are carefully and thoughtfully directed to local organizations that are on the front lines, addressing critical needs right here in Ankeny........

It's not just about writing a check; i's about building partnerships. We work closely with these organizations to understand their needs and ensure our contributions have the greatest possible impact. We see first hand the difference our support makes - the smiles on faces, the resources provided, the opportunities created. I am incredibly proud to be a member of the Rotary Club of Ankeny. I am proud of the work we do, and I am deeply grateful for the support of this amazing community.......
