The world has now gone eight months without any new wild polio cases. Pakistan has not had a new case since January 27, 2021 and Afghanistan has not had a new case since January 1, 2021. These countries must go two years without a new case to be certified polio free but we truly are very close to ridding the world of this disease.
Remember October 24th is World Polio Date.
