All the numbers are in, we believe, and although not quite the net income of 2023, the Club's fundraiser, "Rotary Runs For The Roses" was very successful. The total income was $112,500 compared to $140,995 in 2023. The major difference was we did not have the 50/50 raffle and did not auction desserts which accounted for nearly $15,000 in reduced income from the previous year. Expenses this year were $14,377 less than last year. The final result was a net of $68,583 which is about $14,000 less than in 2023. This year's income will be divided as follows: Each of the paddle raisers, Starts Right Here and Ankeny Service Center received $15,000, The Rotary Club of Ankeny Evening will receive $10,417 and the noon Rotary Club of Ankeny will receive $28,166.
The fundraising committee has decided to repeat the Kentucky Derby theme in 2025. It will be held on May 3, 2025. With plenty of lead time, we encourage every member to get this date on their calendar and plan to attend. Also, start thinking about possible sponsorships, what committee you would like to serve on and some unique silent and live auction items.
