The Rotary Club of Ankeny has committed $2,000 to Ankeny Dollars for Scholars to be used for four $500 scholarships, two each at Ankeny High and Ankeny Centennial High schools. A condition of the club's donation was that first priority be given to a student with a connection to Rotary. This could be a student that has attended RYLA or one that has a parent or grandparent that is a Rotarian. If you have a child that is a graduating senior or know of a deserving student with a connection to Rotary, please encourage them to apply for one of these scholarships. The deadline for submitting their application is March 24, 2020 at 11:59 PM.
Ankeny Dollars for Scholars is in its 37th year of serving the Ankeny Community School District's graduating seniors and their families. In 2019, they awarded 107 scholarships totaling $61,157. To be eligible to apply, the applicant must:
- Be a resident of the Ankeny Community School District.
- Be a graduating senior of Ankeny Centennial or Ankeny High schools.
- Plan to attend an accredited college, university, or post-secondary institution (not limited to a four year school)
- Demonstrate meaningful involvement in school, community, and citizenship opportunities.
