During their November meeting, the following donation requests were approved:
- Ankeny Service Center - $700 – Since 2012, the club has been giving noon speakers a certificate stating we will be making a donation to the ASC in recognition of their presentation to the Club. This donation will provide funds to continue this practice through July 2023.
- Ankeny Community Chorus - $500 – These funds will help offset the cost of new sheet music.
- The Salvation Army - $1,000 – Club members will be ringing the bell on December 10, 2022 at both Ankeny HyVee stores. The club will match donations up to $1,000.
- Dollars For Scholars - $4,000 – This is an increase of $1,000 from last year. The funds are to be broken down into two $1,000 scholarships at each high school with a preference being given to students that may have a relationship with Rotary such as having a parent or relative that is a member of the Rotary Club of Ankeny, has been a Rotary Exchange student or attended a Rotary Youth Leadership camp. Also, preference is to be given to a minority student for at least one of the four scholarships.
