The objective of the Ankeny Leadership Institute is to enhance personal leadership skills of participants, increase insight on issues facing our community, and inspire participants to become involved in leadership roles. Several current members of the Rotary Club of Ankeny are past graduates the ALI program and the Board believes all the participants of ALI should all be considered future Rotarian prospects. During their September meeting, the Board approved some sponsorships for the ALI to show support for ALI this program and increase Rotary's visibility to the participants. Rotary will be the sponsor for the ALI "Meet and Greet" and also for their "Graduation Ceremony". In addition, approval was granted for the club to provide up to two scholarships for payment of the tuition to participate in the ALI program. The preference is for individuals to be considered that they be a current Rotarian. If no current Rotarian wishes to participate, consideration will then be given to an employee of a Rotarian's business or a non Rotarian.
The Board also approved a request to provide a sponsorship for the Engage Ankeny.org website. This website is a project of the Ankeny Leadership Institute's class of 2019-2020 and is to create a website to connect local nonprofits to the community and bring awareness to resources that are available. This Silver Sponsorship, $500, will help provide enhancements to the website.
