The 2026 fundraiser planning committee held it's first meeting on August 3rd with a primary task of selecting a theme for the event and the committee selected The Roaring 20s!!
The Roaring '20s, refers to the 1920s decade of music and fashion. It began in leading metropolitan centers and spread widely in the aftermath of world war I. The spirit of the Roaring 20s was marked by a general feeling of novelty and a break with tradition, through modern technology such as automobiles, moving pictures, radio and aviation soon became a business due to its rapid growth. Jazz and dancing rose in popularity in opposition to the mood of World War I and new trends in lifestyle and culture developed and the 20s became known as the "Jazz Age". And women got the right to vote in the US in 1920!!
So ladies, break out your beads, sequins, tassels, feather headbands, and Gatsby or fringe flapper dress and men your dark navy blue pinstripe gangster tweed suit and fedora hat and plan to attend Rotary's 2026 fundraiser on April 18, 2026.
