William Lawrie Passed Away

The club is saddened to learn of the passing of William "Bill" Lowrie at age 66 on January 25, 2015.   In March, 2014, the evening Ankeny Rotary club met at Bill's home and painted three bedrooms and the kitchen as a service project.  Bill was a Vietnam War veteran and disabled due to exposure to agent orange.  He lived alone but had daily nursing care.  Bill said thank you to the group by hosting a picnic in his back yard and providing steak to be grilled for everyone in June.
