Thank Yous From Dollars for Scholars Winners
The Club has received thank you letters form both of the individuals that received $500 scholarships from the Rotary Club of Ankeny at the Dollars for Scholars presentation last week. Here are a few excerpts from each:
I am writing to thank you for your generous $500 Rotary Club of Ankeny scholarship. I am very thankful and appreciative to be selected as the recipient of your scholarship. I am attending the University of Iowa in the fall and planning to major in Biology or Biochemistry. I am interested in a career in pharmacy or possibly in a laboratory. This scholarship will be very helpful in paying for my college expenses and will help me to concentrate more on school instead of working. Sincerely, Kelsey Anliker
As a recipient of the 2015 Rotary Scholarship, I would like to thank you for your generous investment in my future. I greatly appreciate the value of the opportunity. I would also like to thank you for allowing me to attend RYLA two years ago to which I also returned last year as a staff counselor. That leadership experience gave me valuable knowledge to lead in many school activities and helped set me apart from the competition for other scholarships. Next year I will attend Truman State University to study business and Spanish. Although I am not sure what my plans are after college, I am interested in each of these subjects and felt that they will give me a good foundation for many areas. Sincerely, Amber Lillian Smith.
