Rotary Foundation Minute
Every year hundreds of thousands of people - children, families, and entire communities - benefit from projects funded by The Rotary Foundation. Its concentration is in six areas of focus: promoting peace, providing clean water, fighting disease, saving mothers and children, supporting education and growing local economics.
In this season of giving your $10 gift can provide bed nets to combat malaria in countries like Uganda and for a donation of $25, it can purchase the necessary school uniform which enables a child to attend school. Your $50 gift can provide water filters that will combat deadly waterborne diseases in Guatemala, and $85 can purchase purple markers used to mark the pinkie fingers of children who have received the polio vaccine. $100 can provide a sewing machine used to launch a business in India, and $250 gives mothers living in domestic violence shelters the means to bathe and care for their babies.
