Ankeny Mayor, Mark Holm, issued a proclamation on December 18, 2023, stating the month of January 2024 as "Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month", and encouraging all citizens to become more informed on this growing problem, to be vigilant and report suspicious activity, and to work towards solutions to end tracking in all its forms in our community.
