Golf Ball Drop Final Numbers

All the money has been counted and all the bills paid for the "2014 Summerfest Golf Ball Drop".   A total of 580 balls were sold compared to 558 last year.   Total income including the sale of tickets and donations was $8,130.  Expenses including prize money and state sales tax was $2,442.80.  This leaves net income of $5,687.20 which will be split as follows:  $2,824.32 to the Ankeny Service Center, $1,882.88 to the Rotary Club of Ankeny, $60 to Kiwanis, $123 to Lions, $30 to Ankeny Young Professionals, $30 to Jaycees, and $51 to Optimists. Additionally, we've been advised the Jaycees and Ankeny Young Professionals will be donating their share of the proceeds to the Ankeny Service Center.
