Evening Club Serves Agape Gardens

Agape Gardens is located on the grounds of the Faith Chapel location of First United Methodist Church in Ankeny.  It's mission is to provide fresh nutritious produce free of charge to those in need.  This requires a number of volunteers to assist with planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting.  On August 12th, the members of the "Evening" Rotary Club of Ankeny and about 20 other volunteers harvested over 854 pounds of fresh produce including wax beans, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, okra, Swiss chard, raspberries and a 29 pound cabbage!  This puts the garden over 5,000 pounds of fresh produce delivered so far this year.  Thanks to Stacy Koeppen for making the arrangements for this service project.
