Members of the Evening Rotary Club of Ankeny picked vegetables and pulled weeds at the AGAPE Garden in Ankeny on the evening of September 2nd.  With their help over 800 pounds of vegetables were harvested.

AGAPE Garden is located on the grounds of Ankeny First United Methodist's Faith Chapel Church at 7384 NW 16th St. and provides fresh produce for area feeding ministries.  From spring planting through fall harvesting, a dedicated team of volunteers plants, tends and harvests the vegetables and fruits, and then delivers them to various feeding ministries around the metro.  Area agencies and ministries receiving produce include Bethel Mission – Hope Ministries, DMARC Food Pantry (Ankeny Neveln Center), North Branch Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny Food Pantry, Trinity United Methodist Church, and the First United Methodist's “Homeless Helps” meals.
