Evening Club Mentors

The Ankeny Evening Rotary Club is seeking 6-8 members of the Rotary Club of Ankeny to consider giving priority to attending the evening meetings rather than the noon meetings.  When District Governor Ockenfels made his official visit to our club he suggested members from the "Noon" club serve as mentors to the new "Evening" club for a period of 12 months.  The goal for the mentors is to provide guidance and leadership as the new club works to grow to 20-25 new members and seeks their charter.  With a larger membership base the "Evening" club will be more attractive to prospective new members and speakers that are invited to the meetings.  The "Evening" club meets Tuesdays from 5:45-7:00 pm at Wig & Pen, 2005 South Ankeny Blvd.  The club is committed to participating in a service project each month and, when possible, these service opportunities will occur during the regular meeting time.

The Board has endorsed this mentoring program and has agreed to reduce quarterly dues to $50 plus any contributions to Paul Harris for any member wishing to become a mentor for the evening group.  Evening club members are on their own for any food and drink they may wish to order.  These mentors will, of course, be welcome to continue to attend noon meetings and pay $10 for the meal for each noon meeting they attend.   Mentors will be expected to continue to maintain minimum attendance standards through attending the evening meetings or making up at noon meetings or earning other make ups.  Please give consideration to being a mentor for the "Evening" club and helping the club get chartered by sharing your Rotary experience and leadership.  Contact Kristofer Orth, Evening Club President Elect, korth@designallianceinc.com, or Nate Burnham, nfburnham@gmail.com, for more information or to sign up to be a mentor.
