Donation to Lions KidSight Project

The Ankeny Lions Club has been conducting KidSight vision screening of pre-school aged children since 2000.  KidSight is a joint project of the Lions Clubs of Iowa and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa Hospitals.  More than 15,000 children living in the Ankeny Community have received free vision screenings through this program including more than 1,600 last year.  Vision screenings are available to any child living within the Ankeny Community and they are conducted free of charge.  The Rotary Club of Ankeny recently presented the Ankeny Lions Club with a donation of $2,000 to aid in the purchase of a new digital iScreen visual screener system to provide more accurate screening and to make transmission of vision data more efficient.
