The Rotary Club of Ankeny presented two $500 scholarship last week.  One went to Kendall Smart a graduaing senior at  Ankeny High School and the other to Maggie Mixdorf from Ankeny Centennial.  Thank you to Sally Schroeder and Doug Beech for representing The Rotary Club of Ankeny in these presentations.

A thank you letter has already been received from Kendall Smart.  It read:

I am writing to share my thanks with you and the Rotary Club of Ankeny for funding the $500 Dollars for Scholars Scholarship I received.  I am deeply appreciative and excited to have money to add to my college fund.  My late grandfather was a Rotary Club member in Madison, Wisconsin.  I know he would be proud that I was selected as the recipient of this scholarship.

At the University of Texas I plan to study at the McCombs School of Business.  I am currently undecided on a major, but would like to someday own my own business.  Because of this scholarship, it will be easier for me to achieve my academic and career goals. Continuing to volunteer is another goal that is important to me.  This week I am coordinating an Ankeny United Against Hunger food drive during the very first high school soccer games between Ankeny High School and Ankeny Centennial High School.  I look forward to continuing my involvement in community service while at the University y of Texas.

Thank you so very much for this generous scholarship.  Your donation will not be put to waste and I will work hard to reach my goals.
