Outreach Inc., with a distribution center in Des Moines has agreed to help the victims of the numerous tragic earthquakes in Nepal by donating 285,000 prepackaged meals valued at $75,000.  Rotary District 6000 has committed to pay shipping and delivery cost of $14,000 of the container with the meals.  The District is taking these funds out of its "Disaster Relief Fund".   Rotarians and Clubs in District 6000 have been asked to help with this effort.  The Rotary Club of Ankeny has agreed to contribute $250 to the District Disaster Relief Fund.   Outreach has also agreed to donate a second container that will be sponsored by a Kiwanis group in the Denver area.

You may recall , on June 10, 2014, the noon club had the privilege of hosting a visiting Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Pokhara Newroad, club # 83601, District 3292 Nepal.  He was Tribhuvan Sharma.  He was accompanied by his wife Padma Devi Baral.  They presented our club with their club's magazine and banner.  President Westercamp presented them with a banner for our club.  Tribhuvan also visited briefly about some Rotary projects in Nepal.
