District Governor Jacque Andrew will make her official visit to the Rotary Club of Ankeny on October 1st.  Jacque's husband Jim is a farmer and will likely not be able to join her since he may be harvesting.

The Rotary journey for Jacque Andrew began in 1990 when she was asked to become a member of the Rotary Club of Jefferson.  During her year as president in 1999-2000, she led her club and other Jefferson organization volunteers in sponsoring the relocation to the community of 17 refugees from Kosovo, a most rewarding collaborative experience.  The club was honored by the Governor of Iowa for its leadership and service.  Launched in November 1999, the club's annual auction fundraiser has awarded over $300,000 to local and Rotary projects to date.

In the District, Jacque has served: four years as an Assistant Governor; three years as District Secretary, and work on many district committees since first appointed in 1994.  International experience has included attendance at Chicago, Salt Lake City and Lisbon RI Conventions.  In 2013, she served on a Polio National Immunization trip to India and on the district's service team to Xicotepec, Mexico in 2012.  Her family has also hosted/counseled Rotary youth exchange students and Iowa State international students.

Proud to be an Iowa native, Jacque earned her bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and master's degree from Drake University.  Since 1994, Jacque, her sister and nieces, have operated the Webster county farm where she grew up.

Throughout her career in marketing, communications and human resources spanning three decades, Jacque has worked principally in the fields of healthcare and education.  For over 20 years she was a director for the Green County Medical Center in Jefferson retiring in 2001.  She was president of health care professional groups and chair of the Leadership Iowa program's board of governors, receiving the distinguished leadership award from the National Association for Community Leadership.

Jacque and Jim, married in 1978, find great joy in their growing family including 4 grandchildren.  All three daughters, Jane, Julia and Jennifer, are Paul Harris Fellows.  Jacque enjoys gardening, reading, technology, and ISU athletics.  Jim is an avid reader of history, business and politics.  Both love to travel.
