Ankeny to Participate in District 6000 Warm Coat Project

During the July Rotary Board meeting, the club agreed to commit $2,000 to the District’s “Warm Coat Project” again this year.  This is the same amount as last year that was committed to this project last year and we also obtained a District Community Service grant for an equal amount.  Our club is not eligible for a matching grant since the District does not allow a club to obtain a grant for the same project two years in a row.  However, an arrangement has been made with the Rotary Club of Boone to participate in their grant.  Our $2,000 plus the matching grant should result in about 250 coats for distribution in Ankeny.   We will again work with Project Fresh Start in the distribution of these coats.
