On November 19, 2013, five members of the Ankeny Evening Rotary club performed a community service project at the Saint Joseph Emergency Family Shelter in Des Moines.  All members were involved in planning, preparing a home cooked meal and serving the meal to 28 men, women and children that are temporarily living in this shelter.  This is the second community service outreach project the club has performed.  Each month the club plans to conduct one community service outreach project in Ankeny or the Des Moines metro.  In October the club volunteered time to cleaning up a large flower, shrub and tree garden space in Ankeny that we have recently adopted.  In December, they plan to participate in a community blood drive.
