United States of America

The Iowa Military Veterans Band, in one of only four scheduled appearances for 2021, will be performing in Ankeny July 24 started 7 p.m. at the Ankeny Bandshell. It is composed of 100 military veterans who are accomplished musicians and who have served on extended active duty in all branches of U.S. services from WW II up to the current War on Terror. The bands mission is to musically salute military veterans and their organizations, the state of Iowa, to honor national holidays and to play for the enjoyment of the general public.

The Band and was created to perform one concert at the 1996 dedication of the Iowa World War II Memorial. The audience’s overwhelming response encouraged the band to continue playing concerts for special occasions throughout the state of Iowa.
