Three students each received a Rotary Club of Ankeny Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 during Senior Spotlight Night in May. President Todd Eipperle attended the presentations at Ankeny Centennial High School and Doug Beech, Community Service Chair, attended the presentations at Ankeny High school to represent the Club. The recipients were:
Madison Carleton, Ankeny Centennial - Madison will be attending the University of Northern Iowa this fall and will be majoring in Science, Math & Technology.
Abby Mayo, Ankeny Centennial - Abby will be attending Des Moines Area Community College and will be majoring in Performing Arts.
Clara Freese, Ankeny High - Clara will be attending the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and will be majoring in Science, Math, & Technology.
Dollars for Scholars has presented scholarships to Ankeny students in every year since 1984 when 13 scholarships were given totaling $3,250. Two of these scholarships were from the Rotary Club of Ankeny in the amount of $300 each. This year, 139 students received scholarships totaling $90,750. This makes 3,388 scholarships issued in the past 39 years totaling $1,449,287 through Dollars for Scholars.
