Wade Franck Memorial Plaza

It has now been more than a year since Gregary "Wade" Franck was killed by a drunk driver while riding his bike on Grand Avenue in Des Moines.  His parents, Greg and Ankeny Rotarian, Jan are planning to use donations they have received and hope to still receive to build a bike hub at the Ankeny Market Pavilion.   The "Wade Franck Memorial Plaza" will include bathrooms, bike racks, a bike maintenance station, places to take a rest from riding and a map of central Iowa's trail system.  It will cost about $100,000 and the Franck's are offering to match funds donated until the first of November up to $25,000.
