Mike O'Conner Receives Award

Kathy Sibbel had the pleasure of presenting Ankeny Rotarian, Mike O'Connor with the Dr. Clifford Dochterman Award at the noon Rotary meeting on November 29th. 

 

Cliff Dochterman served as the President of Rotary International during 1992-1993 and his professional career in higher education included 20 years at the University of California and 20 years at the University of the Pacific.  Cliff earned his Eagle Scout award in 1939 and has been awarded three of the highest honors of the Boy Scouts of America, the Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope and Distinguished Eagle awards.  As President of Rotary International he created the theme, "Real Happiness is Helping Others".  The International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians created this award I the name of Dr. Clifford L. Dochterman to recognize exemplary Rotarians and Scouters.    Congratulations Mike!
