Kathy Sibbel was nominated by the Rotary Club of Ankeny for the District 6000's  "Guardian of Integrity" award.  The District created this award to honor Boone Rotarian and past District Governor, Paul G. Hellwege's many contributions to District 6000 as a friend, mentor, story teller, and source of history and traditions to Rotarians both young and old.  The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions that foster the development of integrity.  During the Toast to District 6000, thirteen Rotarians were presented with this award including Kathy Sibbel. This is what was said about Kathy as she received this award:
 
"Ankeny Rotarian, Kathy Sibbel, retired in 2014 from ownership and management of her business, Creative Children's Preschool, which had been named "Small Business of the Year" in 2005.  A theme in her life is youth and children.  Besides her career as a preschool educator, she is a volunteer for RYLA, counselor for youth exchange students and Rotary Advisor to Interact.  She is a founding member of the women's philanthropic organization, 100 Women Who Care.  Kathy was named Ankeny YMCA Volunteer of the Year in 2008, Rotarian of the Year in 2015-2016 and "Ankeny's Outstanding Citizen" in 2017."
