During the noon Rotary meeting on March 28th, Sally Schroeder presented a wrap up of the "Visioning For Clubs" session that several members of the club completed on March 4th.  Club Visioning is a strategic planning session for what the club will look like in five years with the objective of helping clubs develop a vision and framework to sustain and increase membership, implement successful service projects, develop leaders and build support for The Rotary Foundation.  The areas discussed and the most popular ideas generated included the following: 
 
Vision - The Rotary Club of Ankeny is the  premier service organization making a positive impact on the community through service of time and money; Meet with other service clubs for the benefit of community needs; Members of the club are community leaders.
Club Size - 130-135.
Attributes - Broad diversity; All members are engaged in activities.
Club Service - Back Up positions for chairs; Have social media presence; 25% of meetings devoted to planning, organizing, projects.
Community service - Annual summit with other clubs; Engage Ankeny schools & City managers to define community needs.
Youth Services- Increase RYLA from 10 to 30;  Support non-sport students.
International Service - Water projects;  Allocate % of annual budget; Vision in line with RI.
Public Relations - Bring in chamber, Ankeny Young Professionals; Community-wide ice cream social.
 
In the next few weeks, Sally plans to meet with the evening club to make a similar presentation and get their input into their vision for the club.
