On January 23rd, Jim Patton, from the Rotary Club of Ames, spoke to our club regarding a water project his club is leading.  The project will be a Rotary Humanitarian Global Grant Project for the development of a water system in Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania, Africa.  This will be the third water project lead by the Ames club in this area.  The total cost of this project over the next 3-4 years will be approximately $350,000.  Several District 6000 Rotary clubs and Rotary clubs outside the district will be participating in this project.  The plan shows a donation of $1,000 will be matched by a District 6000 - District Designated Funds at $1.64 per $1.  These funds are then matched by a Rotary Foundation World Fund Match for another $1,640 and a Rotary Foundation World Fund Club Match of $500.  In total, the Donation of $1,000 becomes $4,780 after the matches.

The Rotary Club of Ankeny's Board has agreed to contribute $3,000 towards this project over a three year period at the rate of $1,000 per year.
